-Since the Internet began, libraries have played a key role in providing access to it. Despite widespread increases in Internet availability, this role is not going away.  It is important that Public Libraries in BC continue to upgrade their understanding of the connectivity challenges and improve the technologies ghey use to facilitate this access. This will help them to offer new digital programs as well as more traditional services going forward. It is our hope that this guide will provide some better understanding to the underlying technologies that connect libraries, and their patrons, to the Internet, and assist with procurement choices to improve these+Since the internet began, libraries have played a key role in providing access to it.
