Image Description for Simple Images

Simple images are images that are independent from context from the surrounding paragraphs, such as logos, or images that only require a brief description.

In our workflow we remove logos and replace them with their text equivalent.

The most common type of simple images we come across at NNELS can be found in Cookbooks. This is because the food is described in detail in the recipe. Any flourishes that have been added to photos in Cookbooks are not important to the meaning of the image, so we can leave them out.

For examples, see Examples: Simple Images
