Section and Chapter Headings for Children’s Books

[French: Les titres des sections et chapitres]

Children’s books tend to not have section or chapter headings. This means you will be dividing each image by page number. The page numbers should match the original pages. Each section will have the image with proper Alt-text, followed by the text you transcribed. All text should be in Normal Style.

Sometimes you will have a book that doesn’t have images on every page. This will mean some pages will just be text, and others will be images. Maintain the page number headings to be consistent with the original book.

Below is an example of a page from a children's book. The original text and image went over page one and two, so the heading reflects this.

Don't forget to enter the alt-text! See Alt-Text for Picture Books for directions.

Page One and Two (heading 1)

Barnabus lived in a secret lab. He was half mouse and half elephant, and he had lived in the lab as long as he could remember. (normal style)
