WIFI

WIFI is a radio network that is added onto a wired ethernet switch to provide Ethernet function and, most often, access to the Internet. Modern WIFI can be deployed using multiple access points covering a wide physical area using a technology called wireless mesh networking. A deeper explanation of WIFI networking is provided in Appendix 1.
