When it comes to ellipsis both the APA and MLA style guides state to use spaces between the dots.
To get the proper ellipsis in Word, we can use Auto Correct to insert ellipses when we type "…” (3 periods):
Insert
tab go to Symbol
Auto Correct
…
and then change to replace it with . . .
(with a space between each dot)OK
